VCP-VCF Architect practice examsIn development
VMware Certified Professional - Cloud Foundation Architect
The design tier of the Cloud Foundation ladder, which absorbed the role the old advanced design exam played: classifying requirements, constraints, assumptions and risks, working through conceptual, logical and physical levels, and then making the compute, vSAN, NSX and availability decisions with the justification and implication each one carries.
What you get
Papers are cut from the bank and weighted like the real exam, and no question appears in two of them. Every wrong answer comes back on later days until you have it right.
What the exam covers
| Design methodology and the Cloud Foundation architecture | Not published |
| Designing compute, storage, networking and availability | Not published |
Two sample questions
1. Why does the failures to tolerate setting drive host count?
- More tolerated failures need more hosts to place copies — correct
- It sets the VLAN count the cluster requires
- It fixes the MTU the overlay must use
- It decides the lifecycle upgrade order
Why: Each additional tolerated failure needs more placement targets.
2. Why record constraints explicitly?
- To turn them into requirements
- To hide them from stakeholders
- They bound design choices — correct
- To remove them from the project
Why: Constraints bound the design's options, so they must be recorded explicitly.
