RHCE builds on RHCSA and is one of the most respected credentials in enterprise Linux engineering.
What you get
Papers are cut from the bank and weighted like the real exam, and no question appears in two of them. Every wrong answer comes back on later days until you have it right.
What the exam covers
| Essential Tools | 10 |
| Manage Systems with Ansible | 25 |
| Plays and Playbooks | 25 |
| Roles and Collections | 15 |
| System Services | 15 |
| Automate Administration | 10 |
Two sample questions
1. Which command checks playbook syntax without running it?
- A. ansible-playbook --syntax-check playbook.yml
- B. ansible-lint playbook.yml
- C. ansible-check playbook.yml
- D. ansible-playbook --validate playbook.yml
Why: --syntax-check validates the YAML syntax and Ansible structure of a playbook without executing any tasks.
2. How do you use a role's handler from outside the role?
- A. Reference the handler by its fully qualified name or use include_role with handlers_from
- B. Handlers cannot be used outside their role
- C. Export the handler in meta/main.yml
- D. Copy the handler to the playbook's handlers section
Why: Handlers defined in a role can be notified by tasks outside the role using the handler's name. The role must be included in the play for its handlers to be available.
