PCEP-30-02 practice examsIn development
PCEP - Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer
Python from the beginning, tested on the details that decide the answer: operator precedence, what range excludes, which values are falsy, and why a mutable default argument behaves the way it does.
What you get
Papers are cut from the bank and weighted like the real exam, and no question appears in two of them. Every wrong answer comes back on later days until you have it right.
What the exam covers
| Computer programming and Python fundamentals | 18% |
| Control flow: conditional blocks and loops | 29% |
| Data collections: tuples, dictionaries, lists and strings | 25% |
| Functions and exceptions | 28% |
Two sample questions
1. What does a chained comparison such as 1 < x < 10 mean?
- Only the first is evaluated
- Both comparisons must hold for x — correct
- The comparisons are combined with or rather than and
- The expression is a syntax error in Python
Why: Python evaluates x once, which other languages do not do.
2. What does iterating a dictionary directly give you?
- Key and value pairs
- The keys — correct
- The values
- An error instead
Why: The items method is the one that gives you both at once.
