Neo4j Certified Professional
The graph database credential, for the problems a relational schema makes painful: nodes, labels and typed relationships that carry properties of their own, Cypher as a pattern language with the CREATE and MERGE distinction that decides whether a load is safe to repeat, index-free adjacency and why traversal cost tracks what is visited rather than database size, then indexes and constraints, profiling a query for the operator that matters, page cache sizing and bulk loading, causal clusters, and parameterised queries with transaction functions.
What you get
Papers are cut from the bank and weighted like the real exam, and no question appears in two of them. Every wrong answer comes back on later days until you have it right.
What the exam covers
| The property graph model and Cypher | Not published |
| Indexes, performance, administration and applications | Not published |
Two sample questions
1. What does declaring a read transaction allow the driver to do?
- Skip the transaction log entirely
- Route it to a follower or read replica — correct
- Return results without a round trip
- Retry it without any limit
Why: Declaring everything as a write sends all the load to the leader, which wastes the cluster.
2. What does a node's degree measure?
- Its number of relationships — correct
- Its property count
- Its label count in practice
- Its index count
Why: Degree is how many relationships a node has.
