MongoDB Associate Developer practice examsIn development
MongoDB Associate Developer
Building against MongoDB in the language you actually use: documents and collections with a flexible schema and the validation that reins it in, the read and write operators, the embed against reference decision and why data read together is stored together, compound indexes built equality then sort then range, then the aggregation pipeline and where filtering must sit to use an index, client and cursor handling in a driver, write and read concern, and how shard key choice decides whether a query hits one shard or all.
What you get
Papers are cut from the bank and weighted like the real exam, and no question appears in two of them. Every wrong answer comes back on later days until you have it right.
What the exam covers
| The document model, CRUD and indexes | Not published |
| Aggregation, drivers, transactions and deployment | Not published |
Two sample questions
1. What does the driver's connection pool size limit?
- How many documents a cursor may buffer
- How many operations may be in flight to a server at once — correct
- How many collections the client may address
- How many retries a failed write may attempt
Why: Sizing it too high moves the contention to the server rather than removing it.
2. What does a geospatial index enable?
- Location-based queries — correct
- Automatic document expiry
- Full-text search
- Transaction isolation
Why: A geospatial index supports proximity and region queries on coordinate data.
