MTCRE practice examsIn development

MikroTik Certified Routing Engineer

MikroTik · intermediate · 60 minutes

In developmentThis course is still being brought to our full standard. The questions and notes are usable, but they have not yet been checked line by line against the vendor’s own training.

The routing specialist step in the MikroTik path: how RouterOS selects and installs routes, advanced static routing with route distance and check-gateway for failover and ECMP for load-sharing, VLAN segmentation with 802.1Q trunks and inter-VLAN routing, and tunnels where EoIP uniquely carries Layer 2 while GRE and IPIP carry Layer 3 and PPP tunnels add authentication; then OSPF as a link-state protocol with adjacencies that form only when parameters agree, multi-area design connecting to the backbone, and deliberate route control through redistribution, filtering, cost and default origination.

What you get

100practice questions
3full papers of 25
2course chapters · 12 minutes
100%answers explained

Papers are cut from the bank and weighted like the real exam, and no question appears in two of them. Every wrong answer comes back on later days until you have it right.

What the exam covers

The domains our question bank is built on. We have not yet transcribed this vendor’s own outline for this exam.

Two sample questions

Two of the 100, with the answer and the explanation.

1. What does a VLAN interface's name convention usually include?

  1. The parent interface and the VLAN identifier — correct
  2. The bridge the VLAN is filtered on
  3. The subnet the VLAN's clients use
  4. The site the VLAN belongs to

Why: Naming conventions are what make a configuration readable a year after it was built.

2. What does redistributing connected routes into OSPF do?

  1. Advertises the router's directly attached networks to the domain — correct
  2. Advertises the routes the router learned from OSPF neighbours as expected
  3. Advertises a default route on behalf of the domain
  4. Advertises the static routes configured on the router

Why: Redistributing everything connected usually advertises more than intended, which is what filtering is for.
