JN0-664 practice examsIn development
Juniper Networks Certified Professional, Enterprise Routing and Switching
The professional level that scales and tunes an enterprise Junos network: OSPF understood by LSA type and stub, totally stubby and NSSA areas, IS-IS with levels running over the data link, BGP for multi-homing with an ordered path selection tuned through policy; then Q-in-Q and EVPN-VXLAN fabrics, Layer 3 multicast split between IGMP toward hosts and PIM in the core, GRE and IPsec tunnelling with class of service protecting priority traffic through congestion, and the GRES, graceful restart and nonstop routing that keep the network forwarding through failure.
What you get
Papers are cut from the bank and weighted like the real exam, and no question appears in two of them. Every wrong answer comes back on later days until you have it right.
What the exam covers
| Advanced OSPF, IS-IS and BGP | Not published |
| Advanced switching, tunnelling and high availability | Not published |
Two sample questions
1. What is the difference between IPsec tunnel mode and transport mode?
- Tunnel mode encrypts only the payload and leaves the header exposed
- Tunnel mode may only be used between two hosts on the same subnet
- Tunnel mode requires a pre-shared key while transport mode uses certificates
- Tunnel mode encapsulates the entire original packet in a new IP header — correct
Why: Tunnel mode protects the whole original packet and adds a new outer header, which is what allows gateways to carry traffic on behalf of the networks behind them.
2. What is the role of the ABR?
- Run the IGMP process
- Forward multicast
- Area to backbone — correct
- Encrypt the tunnels
Why: An Area Border Router connects an OSPF area to the backbone.
