FCX - Cybersecurity practice examsIn development
Fortinet Certified Expert - Cybersecurity
The expert tier, examining design decisions and their consequences: classified requirements turned into numbers, segmentation and zero trust deciding where boundaries go, sizing on the throughput achievable with the inspection actually enabled rather than the accelerated figure, and multi-site and cloud topologies with their failover mechanisms; then fabric and third-party integration with a single identity authority, central management with revisions and provisioning, rationalising a rule base before migrating it, and validating the requirements rather than assuming them.
What you get
Papers are cut from the bank and weighted like the real exam, and no question appears in two of them. Every wrong answer comes back on later days until you have it right.

Two sample questions
1. A FortiAnalyzer is dropping logs during peak hours. Which measurement identifies whether the cause is ingestion capacity rather than network loss?
- The disk utilisation of the archive partition compared against the retention required
- The number of devices in the administrative domain and the reports each schedules
- The received log rate against the rated sustained rate, with the insert queue depth — correct
- The throughput of the network link between the devices and the analyser itself
Why: Comparing the arriving rate with the rated capacity and watching whether the insert queue grows distinguishes a system that cannot write fast enough from one that never received the records. The two causes need different remedies.
2. Why is lateral movement the focus of internal firewalling?
- It is how a breach spreads inside — correct
- It only ever happens at the internet edge
- It is prevented entirely by macro-segmentation
- It has no bearing on where firewalls are placed
Why: Because attackers pivot internally after a foothold, firewalling those internal paths contains the spread.
