EDB PostgreSQL Associate practice examsIn development
EDB PostgreSQL Associate Certification
The nearest thing to an official PostgreSQL administration credential, on a database whose adoption has outrun its certification market: the process-per-connection model and why pooling is standard, what a cluster actually means here, configuration precedence and the first-match rule in host-based authentication, then autovacuum and transaction ID wraparound, logical against physical backup and what point-in-time recovery requires, streaming and logical replication with the slot that fills a disk, and reading a plan for the estimate gap.
What you get
Papers are cut from the bank and weighted like the real exam, and no question appears in two of them. Every wrong answer comes back on later days until you have it right.
What the exam covers
| Architecture, configuration and access | Not published |
| Maintenance, backup, replication and performance | Not published |
Two sample questions
1. Which characteristic does a physical standby have?
- It replicates selected tables
- It has a different schema
- It is a block-level copy of the whole cluster — correct
- It accepts writes
Why: A physical standby replays the log, so it is an identical copy of the whole cluster.
2. How does row-level security relate to table privileges?
- It further restricts rows beyond the grant — correct
- It replaces the need for any table grants
- It only applies to the superuser role
- It grants access the privileges deny
Why: A role still needs the table privilege, and RLS then narrows which rows within it are visible or modifiable.
