1. What does a slowly changing dimension type 1 do on a change?
- Overwrites the value, keeping no history — correct
- Adds a new row with effective dates
- Adds a column holding the previous value
- Writes the change to a separate history table
Why: Type 1 simply overwrites; history is not retained.
2. When does Unity Catalog apply row filters and column masks during a query?
- After compute reads the data, before returning the result — correct
- Before the request is logged in the audit log
- When the storage credential is assumed for the read
- Only on the Hive metastore path, not on Unity Catalog
Why: Step 7 of authorisation applies row filters and column masks before the result goes back to the caller.
