CWNA-109 practice examsIn development
Certified Wireless Network Administrator
The vendor-neutral wireless foundation built on the insight that Wi-Fi is radio first: RF fundamentals of attenuation, reflection and interference, the logarithmic dB scale and signal-to-noise ratio, band and channel planning where only 1, 6 and 11 do not overlap in 2.4 GHz, and 802.11 physical layers where data rate is negotiated against conditions; then CSMA/CA and shared airtime where a slow client drags down a cell, autonomous, controller and cloud WLAN architectures with roaming, WPA2 and WPA3 personal and enterprise security, and site surveys and RF-rooted troubleshooting.
What you get
Papers are cut from the bank and weighted like the real exam, and no question appears in two of them. Every wrong answer comes back on later days until you have it right.
What the exam covers
| RF fundamentals and the 802.11 physical layer | Not published |
| 802.11 operation, architecture and security | Not published |
Two sample questions
1. What is the hidden node problem?
- A client is out of range
- An access point is powered off
- Two clients can hear the access point but not each other, so they collide — correct
- A channel is unused
Why: Hidden nodes hear the access point but not each other, so their carrier sense fails and their transmissions collide.
2. What access method does 802.11 use on the medium?
- CSMA/CA to avoid collisions — correct
- CSMA/CD to detect collisions
- Token passing between stations
- Time slots assigned by the AP
Why: Stations listen and back off to avoid collisions they cannot detect on a half-duplex radio. Wired Ethernet detects collisions instead.
