CPA-21-0x practice examsIn development
C++ Certified Associate Programmer
The only C++ certification ladder there is: declarations read outwards with const binding, the signed and unsigned trap, pointers against references and array decay, the three storage durations with matched allocation and RAII, functions and templates; then classes with the member initialiser list and the rule of three, virtual dispatch and the virtual destructor rule, object slicing, operator overloading and streams, and the containers, iterators and exception behaviour of the standard library.
What you get
Papers are cut from the bank and weighted like the real exam, and no question appears in two of them. Every wrong answer comes back on later days until you have it right.
What the exam covers
| Language fundamentals, memory and functions | Not published |
| Classes, inheritance, operators and the standard library | Not published |
Two sample questions
1. What does the auto keyword do in a variable declaration?
- The variable is heap allocated in practice
- The variable is static
- The type is deduced from the initialiser — correct
- The variable is constant
Why: The auto keyword deduces the variable's type from its initialiser.
2. Which container gives average constant-time lookup by key without ordering?
- std::map
- std::vector
- std::unordered_map — correct
- std::list
Why: std::unordered_map is hash based, giving average constant-time lookup with no ordering guarantee.
