CCDAK practice examsIn development
Confluent Certified Developer for Apache Kafka
Building on Kafka: partitions and the ordering guarantee that follows from them, producing durably with acks and in-sync replicas, consumer groups and delivery semantics, Schema Registry compatibility, Kafka Streams and Connect, and the configuration that makes a cluster survive a failure.
What you get
Papers are cut from the bank and weighted like the real exam, and no question appears in two of them. Every wrong answer comes back on later days until you have it right.
What the exam covers
| Kafka fundamentals, producers and consumers | Not published |
| Schemas, stream processing, Connect and platform operations | Not published |
Two sample questions
1. Where does Kafka Streams keep local state for stateful operations?
- In the producer buffer
- In ZooKeeper
- In the schema registry
- In a state store backed by a changelog topic — correct
Why: Kafka Streams keeps local state in a state store, backed by a compacted changelog topic for recovery.
2. What does producer compression such as lz4 reduce?
- The bytes sent and stored per batch — correct
- The number of partitions needed
- The consumer's per-record processing time
- The number of retries on a send
Why: The batch is compressed once and stored compressed, saving network and disk. It costs some producer CPU in exchange.
